KELLI KIRKLAND, PTA, CPT, CI, MS
Kelli graduated from LSU with concentrations in kinesiology, psychology, and zoology. She received a Master of Science in exercise science and a gerontological studies certificate from the University of Louisiana-Monroe. In graduate school, she researched and published the results from a study comparing physical activity and body composition in adolescent females.
In 2005, Kelli was an adjunct professor in health and wellness at Louisiana Delta Community College and served as an interpreter for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. In 2009, she received an Associate of Science Degree from Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge. Kelli has experience in inpatient rehabilitation centers (TOURO rehabilitation center), skilled nursing facilities (St. James Place), home health, aquatic physical therapy, and orthopedic outpatient centers.
In 2017, she received clinical Ai Chi instructor and Halliwick certifications under the renowned researcher, Johan Lambeck, PT. In 2018, Kelli became a certified personal trainer with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a USAT level one triathlon coach, USMS certified adult swim instructor, and a USA Triathlon Association ambassador.
Kelli designs medical wellness exercise programs for patients following discharge from physical therapy. She has a passion for serving patients with hip dysplasia and encourages patients to return to sports. In addition, she loves teaching triathletes how to swim in open water. Kelli’s desire is to equip people of all ages to live a strong and healthy life.
