LISA H. JAIN, PT, DPT, OCS, CEAS
Kinetic Physical Therapy was founded by Dr. Jain in 2011 in St. Louis, MO, when she realized that she wanted to provide specialized one-on-one care to all her patients. She had the desire to evaluate and treat the “whole person.”
During the first few months of practice, she noticed that patients met their goals more quickly than when she practiced in a traditional outpatient practice. As a result, the clients were able to attain maximal benefit from the personalized attention that she was able to give. Dr. Jain’s training is unique in that she has in-depth experience in the clinical diagnosis and management of movement impairment syndromes to treat orthopedic and sports-related injuries.
Dr. Jain’s interest in physical therapy began in high school when she would accompany her father to his PT appointments. She attended Rhodes College in Memphis, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then attended Washington University School of Medicine’s Program in Physical Therapy in St. Louis, Missouri, ranked #1 by US World and News Report at the time, where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. There she trained under internationally recognized physical therapist, movement scientist, and researcher, Shirley Sarhmann, PT, PhD, FAPTA and learned her Movement Systems Impairment (MSI) approach. MSI specializes in the diagnosis, analysis, treatment and prevention of biomechanical and movement dysfunctions leading to musculoskeletal disorders and injuries.
In 2010, she earned her Orthopaedic Board Specialization (OCS), which is a coveted honor in the field of orthopaedics. In 2014, she became a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist (CEAS). In addition, she has taken continuing education courses in manual therapy, orthotics, ergonomics, and women’s health.
In August 2014, Dr. Jain’s research entitled “The effects of conventional physical therapy and eccentric strengthening for insertional Achilles tendinopathy” was published in The International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy. In addition, she has developed treatment protocols for post-surgical hip conditions. As a result, patients travel across the U.S. to seek her expertise with their hip rehabilitation. In 2015, she lectured at the Foot and Lower Extremity Symposium in London, Canada. She has also served as a lab instructor at the Program of Physical Therapy at Washington University School of Medicine.
Dr. Jain’s family relocated to Baton Rouge in 2013. She established her unique boutique practice in Baton Rouge at the Healthcare Gallery and Wellness Spa. She is also a founding member of the Baton Rouge Emergency Aid Coalition (BREAC), a 501(c)3 non-profit that was formed after the 2016 flood. She is committed to helping both the community and her clients return to their maximal potential. In 2020, she opened a location in the heart of Baton Rouge.
